Halal Meat Frequently Asked Questions

What is Halal?

Halal is an Arabic word that means permissible or legal. In our case, we're talking about permissible meats that Muslims can eat. Non-Muslims can eat it as well.

Difference between Halal and non-Halal meat

Halal meat must be prepared in accordance with Islamic laws in order to be considered legal. To be sacrificed, animals must be alive and healthy. Many important steps must be taken to ensure that the meat is Halal.

Is Halal better for you?

Because blood is drained out during butchering, Halal meat generally tastes better. It also lasts longer due to the lack of blood.

Is Halal Meat more hygienic?

Halal is considered healthier because the blood of the animal is drained from the arteries after slaughter. Because the heart continues to beat for a few seconds after the slaughter, this method expels the majority of the toxins.

What is Zabiha meat?

The term "Zabiha" refers to meat from an animal that was killed humanely by an adult Muslim who is of sound mind.

Does AB Halal Farm provide Halal meat choices?

Yes, our butcher strictly adheres to Islamic animal slaughtering laws. Our whole meat products are completely Halal.

How can I buy Halal Meat from AB Halal Farm?

Come on down to the farm, please! We are open from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesdays to Sunday. To get here, use Google Maps or Apple Maps. You can also call 703-298-2225 ahead to make an appointment.

Halal simply means permissible, which is significant because not all meats are permissible for Muslims. There are specific procedures that a butcher must follow in order to be Halal. Our experienced butchers, possess this knowledge. First and foremost, our butchers will bless the animal and point the animal in the direction of Qibla, which is a prayer direction.

In addition to the Qibla, it is critical that every animal be slaughtered by hand. This does not imply that our butcher will wrestle the animal before sacrificing it. It must be done quickly and with a sharp knife so that the animal suffers the least amount of pain. The body must then be drained of blood. Our livestock is all alive and well, which is critical to the process. Dead animals cannot be slaughtered while remaining Halal.
